Outpatient Surgery

EEPPMC offers inpatient and outpatient surgery in most specialties including spine and cardiovascular.

Our new prep clinic, with extended evening hours, allows greater flexibility for our patients. Initially, we schedule an appointment with a registered nurse 3-5 days prior to surgery. The prep clinic nurse will ensure that all the preoperative paperwork, lab work, and medical history are complete. While at the prep clinic, the patient will receive instructions and information regarding the scheduled procedure. Additionally, the anesthesia department will be available to assist nursing staff and surgeons regarding any diagnostic testing required for a successful surgical outcome.

The day of surgery, the patient and their family will be escorted to our preoperative area to one of 10 large rooms, which ensures privacy and confidentiality. Family members will be able to remain with the patient until the time of surgery. After surgery, the patient will be moved to the Recovery Room, a quiet and comfortable environment, for a more pleasant recovery process. During recovery, family members can relax in the surgical waiting area where the physician and recovery room staff will keep them informed of the patient's status. Upon discharge, the patient will receive post-surgical instructions and a date will be set for a follow up appointment with their doctor. After which, they will be taken by wheelchair to the front entrance where they will be released to their transportation home.
